DUBAI

Location

  • Dubai is the second largest and most populous of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates. Unlike the other emirates (and other countries in the region) Dubai derives less than 10% of its income from oil and has over the past twenty years entered into an unprecedented investment program to diversify its economy with a particular focus on construction, real estate, retail and tourism.
  • The city in tune with its ancient Persian past is truly an international trade gateway and a bye-word for extravagance with its famous Six-Star hotel the Burj al Arab, the highest building in the world the Burj Dubai and the Palm Developments.
  • The city and the Emirate is an interesting mix of old and new and of cultures and religions and is set to continue its growth and prominence for some time to come.

Employment opportunities

  • Accountancy Jobs Abroad focuses primarily on placing persons into the Audit and Advisory service lines of the Big Four Accountancy Firms in Dubai and the Middle East region generally.

Taxation

  • Dubai is truly tax-free. There is no income tax, capital gains tax, non-resident tax or any duty to speak of at the current time in the region.

Immigration

  • To work in the UAE officially you must obtain a work permit and a residency visa as sponsored by your prospective employer. However many people enter the UAE on a tourist/temporary visa and seek and obtain work and then apply for a work permit retrospectively.
