1) Why would I choose to work offshore/abroad and how will this affect my career path in the future?

Apart from the obvious financial benefits of living in a low-tax or tax-free country, and the equally obvious benefits of living in a sub-tropical climate, many employers view a period abroad working in a different culture and environment as a plus point signifying adaptability, drive and determination.

3) Will I need to obtain a work permit to work abroad?

In most if not all cases you will require a work permit to obtain employment in the countries in which we have vacancies. Generally this will involve (a) completing a visa application form (b) some form of medical (c) a police record check (d) verification of key qualifications and (e) provision of references.

Your employer will bear the cost of the above and also co-ordinate the process. However we are available to answer your queries at every stage of the process.

4) What help will I be given to relocate?

Although individual packages differ in most cases successful candidates can expect their airfare to their new destination plus some allowance for excess baggage to be covered by their employer either by reimbursement or by being given a specified allowance. It is also usual for your new employer to provide hotel/guest house accommodation for an initial period. This will give you time to look for a residence once you settle in. It is also common for transport to be provided initially.

5) I have a family, how will this affect my intended relocation?

If your partner is seeking to obtain employment they will also be subject to the same work permit restrictions. It is a common misconception that spouses will be able to work freely in the proposed destination. Most countries allow for a certain level of dependents to reside with the main work permit holder. Generally employers will help as much as possible to accommodate the family requirements of their preferred candidate

Our consultants will be able to advise on each particular circumstance and ensure you can maintain an acceptable standard of living for your family in your proposed destination. We also have a number of contacts within other industries in the locations in which we operate so if your spouse is not an accountant we can still advise.

6) Is it easy to meet people and make friends?

Yes, there are large expatriate networks in all the destinations on this website. Having many people around you who have all experienced moving abroad means you will have a lot in common and meet many people.
